Richard J. Grant
President

Rick Grant has served as President of the Miner Institute since February 2003. Prior to that time, Rick was a professor of ruminant nutrition and extension dairy specialist at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln. His primary areas of interest include forage and nonforage sources of fiber, carbohydrate nutrition, and dairy cattle behavior. He received his B.S. in Animal Science from Cornell University and his Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition from Purdue University. Rick was also a postdoctoral research associate at the U.S. Dairy-Forage Research Center at the University of Wisconsin prior to becoming a professor at the University of Nebraska. Rick’s primary role is to provide leadership to Institute staff as they work toward the common goal of optimizing the crop-animal interface through research and educational programs.
